Bro. Ananda Fong is a dedicated Buddhist leader and prominent Dhamma speaker in Malaysia, with a rich history in the development of Buddhist institutions. He was a devoted student of the late Venerable K. Sri Dhammananda. He served in various Buddhist organisations, which include the Buddhist Institute Sunday Dhamma School, Buddhist Maha Vihara, BUBS, and Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM). Since 2011, he has been the Director of Pustaka Nalanda, managing its main library and branch libraries, and actively promoting the reading of the Nikayas (Buddhist scriptures) through regular Dhamma courses and sharings across the country.

Born and raised in Penang, Ven. Ajahn was first introduced to Theravada Buddhism in his early teens, and his interest and practice of the Dhamma steadfastly progressed as he grew into adulthood. Finding his true calling, he decided to give up his career as an engineer to go forth.
On 13 June 2005, he was ordained in the Dhammayut Thai forest tradition in the Province of Chiangrai, Thailand. He spent the past 14 years in the deep forest of Omkoi in Northern Thailand, supported by a nearby tribal village for his basic living needs.

BUBS is organizing a 2D/1N spiritual and fellowship trip to Santi Forest Monastery, Ulu Tiram, Johor, to participate in their Kathina ceremony.
Details are as follows:
Saturday, 11 October, 7 AM - Gather at UBV Buddhacetiya Hall
Sunday, 12 October, 1 PM - Depart Santi Forest Monastery, Ulu Tiram, back to UBV
Price:
RM300 per adult.
RM260 per child (4 - 17 years old). Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There will be no charge for children below 4 years old (sharing bed with parents/guardian).
The above fee covers transportation, insurance, 1-night accommodation, 1 lunch and 1 dinner on 11 October.
Payment of the participation fee is upon confirmation of acceptance. Fees paid are transferable but non-refundable. A detailed itinerary will be given upon payment of fees. The closing date is 25 September or upon reaching our optimum number of participants, whichever is earlier.

Luang Por Sophon (57 vassa), 80 years old, is currently the Abbot of Wat Bueng Latthiwan, Ayutthaya, Thailand. Luang Por was ordained as a monk to express gratitude to his parents, who have passed on. He travelled and lived in Wat Nong Pah Pong with Luang Por Chah before Luang Por Chah sent him to set up Wat Bueng Latthiwan, which is the 20th branch monastery of Wat Nong Pah Pong.
